Die Schule Lauterhofen zukunftsfähig machen
Start date: Feb 1, 2016, End date: Dec 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

With our college recently having been equipped with two brand new ICT-rooms as well as notebooks and projectors in each classroom and in the context of the introduction of the "Flexible Primary School" there is an undeniable demand to make our school fit for the future. In detail that means that staff need to be enabled to individualize lessons, where appropriate with the help of modern technology. Therefore our college would like to make contact with other European countries where individualization and inclusion of all students have been well-practiced for many years. Courses within highly recognized educational systems for example in Scandinavia and Southern Tirol have been chosen for us to receive stimuli as well as practical advice in order to implement more elements of individualization into the school's lessons. Further insets have been chosen to cover the demand for more activating and motivational teaching methods as an answer to a student clientele that is becoming more and more varied, from challenging and disadvantaged to highly gifted. Undoubtedly the teacher personality still plays a great role in learning success so insets have been chosen to further the teacher personality and to strengthen the sense of European identity amongst the staff. Seven participants were chosen who show a high level of interest and commitment regarding this project. Some of them have previous experience with Comenius-projects and others play a key role in the Primary School of our College. The coordinating team of this project - one Primary and one Secondary school teacher- will support the participants in any shape or form regarding preparation, organization and actual content of the visited courses. On their return, the participants will share their information and acquired competences with staff and help to integrate useful methods into a school's curriculum. New methods and concepts will be disseminated amongst staff in school-internal insets as well as in two neighboring schools . We expect to receive a bundle of new ideas for our own school development in order to help us cope with the diversity of the students and become more familiar with the inclusionary concept. We are hoping that with an increased role of IT in our classrooms our students will leave our college with the right tools to succeed in a European job market. The project and the correlating insets are to help the college to perceive itself in a European context and integrate ideas and best practice from other European countries.
