Search for European Projects

Διαπολιτισμική εκπαίδευση του σχολείου
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The classes of our school are becoming more diverse, with students coming from different cultural, national and social contexts (children of European immigrants). The school needs to facilitate the management of diversity and help students of different cultural background to integrate in the school. This fact requires the implementation of intercultural educational practices. Because of the insufficient training in intercultural education of the school’s teaching staff, our school deems necessary to support it with the project, which has a high European added value, since, throughout the training courses, teachers will learn methods and practices, will acquire skills, will form networks of contacts with teachers of EU schools and will set the foundation for the implementation of school and European intercultural projects. The objectives of the project are, through the monitoring of the training courses, the knowledge of the methods and practices of intercultural education, skill acquisition for effective intercultural communication and skill management intercultural projects for the application of intercultural education practices. The five participants are permanent teachers in our school and will be serving the school unit for the next school year 2015-2016. They are teachers of all specialities with adequate language skills and real willingness to attend training courses abroad, to transmit knowledge, skills and experience from the training courses to their colleagues, and to applicate intercultural educational practices. The school teachers’ group will attend the training courses, will form networks of partner teachers’ contacts both during and after training as well as diffuse the training courses results to other colleagues, who will implement them as an integral part of the curriculum. Teachers will be trained in person with a representative participation, then will train other colleagues, school teachers will teach lessons in class and will implement school and European intercultural projects. School teachers will discuss in regular meetings the pilot application results of intercultural education practice and will write reports, which will be shared by the partner teachers in order to support continuous feedback and interaction during the project. We expect that the implementation of the project will enable school teachers to manage school diversity, to applicate methods and intercultural education practices, and to implement school and European intercultural projects. School students will realize the value of diversity and communication with peers from different cultural background will result in relationship improvement. Participation in European intercultural projects will enhance a sense of European identity and will enable our students to become active European citizens.
