DEZVOLTAREA COMPETENTELOR MECANICILOR AGRICOLI, PRIN PREGATIRE PRACTICA LA STANDARDE EUROPENE

The proposed project aims to contribute to solving the major problems that Horia Vintilă Technological High School in Segarcea and its students are facing : - specific qualification skills limited to the agricultural mechanic profile that cannot provide proper insertion and student mobility on the European labour market; - students’ low practical skills, developed through traditional and low performing techniques; - low language skills in European languages; -students' low motivation regarding personal development, caused by the lack of local opportunities for socio- professional insertion; - students’ low intercultural competences, as most of them proceed from families that are facing social barriers and from families with a poor economic situation; - reduced number of cooperation activities between our institution and similar institutions in Europe. Taking into account the objectives of education and professional development, the project will promote the quality of initial vocational training, will facilitate the insertion of students on the labour market, will increase the number of mobilities in Europe, will improve the quality of cooperation between organizations that provide opportunities for learning, stimulating the global competitiveness of the European market, will improve the transparency and recognition of the qualifications and competences, and it will encourage language learning. The goal of the project is to develop the professional skills of 20 agricultural mechanics, in order to increase their employability rate and socio-professional integration on the European labour market and to facilitate personal development. Through this project we intend to: - Develop the knowledge, skills and competences specific to the qualification of agricultural mechanic in order to facilitate insertion and student mobility on the European labour market; - Improve students' practical skills through advanced techniques in order to provide appropriate services required by the quality standards; - Develop students’ language skills in European languages; - Facilitate the personal development of students by taking and promoting the positive attitudes acquired in the foreign organizations; - Develop students’ intercultural competences inside foreign organizations; - Increase cooperation between the sending institution, the receiving one and the specific companies, in order to enhance the value of the project results. The internship training will address a target group of 20 tenth grade students, vocational education, during the school year 2014-2015, qualified as agricultural mechanics, aged between 15 and 17 years. They come from urban and rural areas and will be both male and female. Students will be selected from among those with good school results (an average over 7,00 during the previous school year ), those keen to develop specific qualification skills, and students speaking English at a beginner’s level (A1). They should be communicative, responsible and civilized, and easy to adapt to new situations. Activities that will take place: - project management (in order to ensure the logistic base); - general training, linguistic training, educational and cultural training; - professional training and monitoring; - validation and certification; - dissemination; Methods used in the training activities: - conversation - exercises - role – play Methods used during the internship: - I know/I want to know / I have learned - practical experiments - brainstorming - case study - investigation group - project - based learning Results - developed professional skills - improved practical skills - improved language skills - facilitated personal development - improved intercultural competences - increased number of cooperation of our institution with European institutions Impact: A. At student level: -continuation of studies by students - greater employability of labor market B. At institution level: - increased capacity to provide quality activities and programmes to better meet the needs of European students in order to increase employability on the European labour market; -enhanced European dimension of education and training -similar projects developed in the future, within an international network of schools and companies; -ECVET documents (training agreements) used to validate skills acquired by students in different contexts Potential long-term benefits: -improved quality and efficiency of education and training -student support for socio-professional and intercultural integration; -quality of work provided in the field of agricultural mechanics; -the existence of digital materials comprising the results of the project and their capitalization; -students becoming aware of their quality as European citizens; -creating opportunities for the students to take part in further European cooperation projects
