Devine qui vient dîner ce soir
Start date: Aug 30, 2014, End date: Jan 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

""Guess who is coming for dinner " is the title of a famous film about a young interracial couple, who wants to get to know the family-in-law before marriage. But only after managing different adventures and obstacles, their own families are going to accept the intercultural union. In this project we want to follow the traces of the film (the desire, the expectations, the fears, the get to know each other, the unexpected, the happy end). By cooking and discussing together, it will be possible to reflect about European citizenship and to pass over intercultural barriers. We think that kitchen and cooking themes can open a common space in which young people can share their experiences, sensations and traditions, and maybe even good competences for a future employment. All these activities are going to be realized by non-formal education. The methods of work will be totally non-formal. Learning by doing is the manner of working together with the participants. In this way we will stimulate another important topic: The non-verbal communication which is going beyond linguistic barriers. At the end of the youth exchange the participants are going to prepare a dinner for the local population, who will be able to benefit from this experience. The project is going to experiment with video sequences which are going to be shared online to make benefit other people of the project experience. ADIF TV is going to play a fundamental role in the diffusion of the activities. We are going to benefit to create a discussion forum for culinary exchanges. This bilateral project has for target the implication of 20 young participants with the aim to promote a mutually comprehension and a solidarity by cooking together. Starting from food consumption and preparation, we want to reflect the cultural diversity and European citizenship ! The participants are going to prepare their meals together for 12 days, they are going to exchange traditional recipes from their regions of origin. This project initiated by the non-profit organizations ADIF (Cognac) and Europabaum e.V. Donzdorf is going to bring together 24 participants to exchange around food-consommation and the preparation of meals. The project will take place between the 13th and the 24th of October 2014 in Cognac (included days of arrival and departure). The preparation visit is going to take place from the 1st to the 2nd September 2014.
