Development of the protection against floods in the common Hugarian/Romanian attention area on Mures river (DECOHR) (DECOHR)

The general objective of the project is to put into place a better flood protection system, increasing this way the safety in the Maros/Mures river basin area and to develop the infrastructure of the cantons located within the target area on both sides of the Romanian – Hungarian border. The specific objectives are focused on providing better working conditions for the partners' staff by renovating the guard houses (including IT developments) and building a service road on the top of the dyke. The main activities to be undertaken during the project are the following: sealing a part of common section of the dyke on river Maros/Mures with solid surface, rehabilitation of guard houses and security response centers (improving the energy consumption efficiency, developing of social facilities, IT development), construction of roads for the accessibility of dykes and defence centres.Target groups: hydro-technical experts, staff members, the population of the basin consisting ofabout 30000-32000 inhabitants in Romania and about 70000 inhabitants in Hungary.
