Development of specific regional policies through the analysis of early-stage financing opportunities for innovative start-ups and spin-offs (SEED-REG)
Start date: May 31, 2005, End date: May 30, 2007 PROJECT  FINISHED

The creation and development of healthy and successful innovative SMEs play a catalyst role in the growth of the economy through innovation and employment. Unfortunately, however, enterprises, especially innovative small and medium sized enterprises fail to grow or even form due to lack of capital. The SEED-REG project was initiated with the aim of examining possible actions for the bridging of the gap between enterprises and capital. The cooperation of German, Greek, Slovenian, Czech and Hungarian partners have set the aim to provide decision makers with clear concepts with respect to the early financing of enterprises. Through the sharing of knowledge, experience and know-how, the project partners will examine the feasibility of the creation of seed-capital funding in the regions of the participating New Member States.
