The objective is to develop the Runon ja Rajan road into a significant thoroughfare which directs traffic to Eastern Finland and, with the aid of which, its wide-ranging tourism and product output can be highlighted. The Runon ja Rajan road links the cultural and tourist destinations of the East of Finland and the Karelian Republic and is linked to the major European tourist road network through the Via Baltica Nordica.With the aid of the project, the road will be marked in the landscape with tourist road roadsigns. It will have its own web site with maps and links to municipalities, and a press publicity campaign will be launched to increase demand and familiarity.
