The project's aim is to modernize three hospitals on the 'Via Baltica' highway and develop the cooperation in the field of health care system. The other objectives of the project are the hospital's staff development and the improvement of health care infrastructure. Expected Results: The activities of this project will result in the increase of safety of tourists and both borderland population. The investments are the following: the modernisation of a surgery department in Suwałki, radiological department in Marijampolė and sterilization unit in Kalvarija hospital. The partners also purchased modern medical equipment for emergency care cases and life support as well as organised two joint conferences. Aiming to strengthen the cooperation between the partners and share valuable experience, joint working meetings-seminars addressed to surgeons, gynecologists, nephrologists and other specialists were organised.
