Development of Integral Skills on the Tourism

The institution offering the present project, “ITCG Palizzi” of Vasto, for institutional vocation and for its choice of teaching strategy has always encouraged and supported projects of informal learning for their teachers and students : an example is the Leonardo da Vinci project - IVT "FROM SCHOOL TO WORK : warm-up phase ," presented and funded in 2011 which saw 30 students from “'ITCG Palizzi” participate in a period of internship in the hospitality sector in three different European countries. In order to continue educational programs and due to its strong past experience, the “ITCG Palizzi” located in Vasto was the organizer of this mobility project which has been created because of the need to offer young students the opportunity to enrich their personal and professional skills and to prepare them to face a European labor market which is increasingly competitive, especially in a sector such as tourism. The recipients of the action were 100 students in professional training, attending the third and fourth years of a Secondary School coming from different backgrounds of study attending the proposing Institute along with two other institutions of the same province, the ITET "Enrico Fermi" Lanciano and I.T.C.G. " Galiani - De Sterlich " of Chieti , who were selected after a rigorous and transparent procedure, then were prepared for the mobility period abroad, and then were provided a scholarship for an internship abroad at companies and organizations that deal with planning and promoting tourism. The general objective of the project was to create a link between education and acquisition of professional skills expendable in the labor market, to promote a culture of lifelong learning, in order to avoid social discrimination and to encourage active citizenship. The specific objective was to support participants in continuous training activities, to acquire and use their knowledge, skills and qualifications to facilitate personal development, employability and participation in the European labor market, increasing the attractiveness of education, training and mobility of young people. The internships, lasting five weeks, was carried out in different areas, within different types of business consistent with the professional profiles of the beneficiaries, located in the following countries: Spain, Germany, France, Ireland, supported by the foreign partners, the proposing organization will closely monitor the mobility period. Other national partners, in addition to the two technical institutes mentioned previously, for this ambitious project were companies, organizations and local institutions that share the territory with the proposing organization as well as the study and attention to trends in the labor market, the professional needs of companies in the territory, the employability of young people and the development of their professional skills. Supported by partners from local and foreign markets, the proposing organization, upon the return of the students from the internships, dealt with the procedure for issuing the Europass Mobility Certificate, fundamental tool to certify their training. The presence of the local partnerships, and of the numerous partners associated, are been implemented further strategies of dissemination and awareness of the social/production in order to create synergy and partnerships for the future employment of the students . The local partners were actively contribute to the dissemination phase through their information offices and the organization of a final conference for the dissemination of the results.
