Development of innovative interventions on indigenous grape varieties - Vines for the Italian-Tunisian Integration (DIVIN)

The project aims at supporting the integration of supply chains in the food industry, in the field of Vine and Wine, promoting innovative strategies of analysis and genetic improvement of native grapes. To achieve this overall objective, the project has the following specific objectives:• the mutual promotion of local products through the application of consistent and comparable technologies for the analysis of organic vineyards;• the harmonization of procedures for the remediation of the strains suffering;• the development of investment opportunities in the wine sector in Tunisia; • the socio-economic development in the border region. Expected Results: The main results of the project are the following:• N. 1 Comparative genetic analysis of vines on the territory of Tunisia and Sicily;• N. 1 Analysis of the areas of distribution of vine varieties;• N. 1 Analysis of the territories concerned to identify appropriate environmental conditions of production facilities in the area of cooperation;• N. 1 Comparative analysis of the main grape varieties in Italy and Tunisia;• N. 1 joint laboratory for sampling, packaging and shipping of the genetic material;• N. 1 Genetic Map of Cultures;• N. 1 awareness campaign directed to Italian and Tunisian producers on new techniques;• N. 3 workshops for the evaluation of the peculiarities of local wines on both shores;• N. 3 workshops to encourage Italian investments in the Tunisian wine industry.
