Development of Cooperation Between Estonian - Latvian Youth Hobby Modelists (Hobby slot car racing)
Start date: Sep 13, 2011, End date: Mar 12, 2013 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project will build up ties between the youth from Sindi (ee) and Limbaži (LV) neighbourhoods, who are united by the hobby of slot car racing. Within the project, the municipalities of Sindi and Limbaži will develop slot car tracks and organize joint experience and cultural exchange camps for the youngsters. Achievements: On April 5, 2013, the longest hobby slot car track in Latvia was opened in Limbaži County High School. This track, a part of Estonia – Latvia Programme co-funded Hobby Slot Car Racing project, is similar to the one opened last August in Sindi, Estonia. The tracks will help to teach hobby slot car modeling in Estonia and Latvia, as well as organize joint competitions between school children of both countries. According to the project coordinator from the Estonian side Johannes Mets, the track in Limbaži is slightly wider than the one in Sindi.
