Development of Co-operation of Medical Institutions of the Polish-Belarusian Borderland in the Scope of Immunotherapy for Pulmonary Tuberculosis (IPBU.03.01.00-20-101/10)

Lack of cooperation between Poland and Belarus along with serious deficiency Belarus faces linked to the drug-resistant tuberculosis, which constitutes 17% of all tuberculosis incidences calls for a rapid and effective response dealing with offering a high calibre diagnostics of tuberculosis. The project aims to solve the problem through the purchase of the relevant equipment for offering quality diagnostics to the patients of the medical establishments in Poland and Belarus.As such, the activities of the project include purchasing of laboratory equipment for diagnosis and treatment by the Polish and Belarusian partners, renovation of laboratories by the Polish and Belarusian partners, conferences and seminars on sharing experience and expertise, carrying out exchange-of-experience visits as well as issuing a publication containing immune-therapy methods fully transferrable on both sides of the border. Expected Results: The project resulted in intensified cooperation among the tuberculosis-treatment medical establishments, the launch of a preventive tuberculosis test programme and increased awareness about the tuberculosis prevention in the Polish-Belarusian borderland. The partners received new medical equipment and new experience to jointly fight the disases.
