Our Project will be an encouragement for all our teachers to develop themselves and especially to learn a foreign language when involved and benefit in such these organizations. Involvement of our school’s young staff in these training activities will have a positive change for our institution’s vision and mission.
In the training courses they attend, they will be able to communicate with teachers from various European countries and this way, they will have some significant knowledge about their system and methodology. So, we will have the chance to evaluate ourselves see our positive and negative sides.
We aim to improve collaboration with our students and parents.
Our teachers with a foreign language will be able to develop their skills to the highest levels.
Our teachers need to learn how to brainstorm and share their experiences and then decide on which techniques are the best.
Meeting some teachers from different countries will provide us partner friends for our future projects.
In recent years, number of English language classes in secondary schools in Turkey have dropped thus number of students in classrooms rose to 35. This made it necessary for our teachers to renew themselves and learn about new and more sufficient methods and techniques.
Our classrooms have been equipped with interactive whiteboards. And students will be given tablet computers by the government very soon. So it is inevitable to train our teachers about technology along with techniques and methodologies.
The books especially about language teaching given by the government are sometimes not enough. Our teachers need to enrich materials and adapt their lectures with new methods in order to keep up with the curriculum. And this makes it necessary to train our teachers with new skills.
In classes (especially in English) with student centered methodology, our pupils have very little opportunity to speak and practice. We, as educators, aim to make our students satisfied in education process by using the technology in high competence by blending new methods.
Although Turkish students have been taking English classes for many years, very few are in desired levels now. And this makes us, the educators, want to learn about new techniques and methodologies and also need to see how the ones who have already accomplished do it.
The technological devices in our classrooms makes it necessary for our teachers to use the high-tech tools and apply new methods and techniques along with it.
Innovative methods do not only provide the knowledge but also ensure students to be individuals, who express themselves, think, live self confidently and judge the situations they encounter. We aim to influence our students not only on their levels of knowledge but also on their personal development as well.
Today, technology has changed the student and classroom profile a lot. We are hoping to direct the ties of our students with technology to a positive path.
A classroom environment where there is no pencil and book is becoming the new procedure and technique. We believe that all these educational attainments can be provided by developing our teachers’ awareness and the courses which we hope our teachers will take could help vision.
Fast progress of information technologies has also changed the inner worlds of our students’. It is inevitable for our teachers to get into their worlds with the help of communication skills. This way, we aim to motivate our pupils in every way and help the ones who need in very short time.
We are going to make possitive effect to the other schools' aim of being European trying to widen our aquisitions .
Two of our English teachers will take the courses. Both of whom have enough competences in counseling, technology and applications. They also have some experience in international projects.
Communicative skills, oral interactions, brainstorming, individual approaches, problem solving and learn by doing, etc. approaches will be used.
