The goal of the project is cross-border cooperation in the medical field and the improvement of the level of health assistance. Among project activities are the following: procurement of equipment in both hospitals, renovation and expansion at Carei hospital (renovation: 28.4 square meters, expansion: 210 square meters); regular, monthly training activities and workshops which will lead to the development of common protocols.Direct beneficiaries: patients in need of rehabilitation care, with heart, brain or other circulatory, locomotors diseases, victims of accidents, patients with articular and rheumatism symptoms (around 22000 people in Carei and, in Fehérgyarmat, around 27400 patients); specialists participating in the programs. (15-15 persons);The indirect target group is the population of the border regions living in the districts of the institutions involved. The number of the indirect target group in Hungary equals to the number of inhabitants in the district of Szatmár-Bereg County Hospital and Medical Bath, around 90.000 persons and in Romania, the inhabitants in the district of the Hospital of Carei (Nagykároly), around 70.000 persons. Expected Results: Some of the project results are: 238,4 square meters of reconstructed building, 160.000 people served by the joint infrastructure, 10 joint trainings; 4 joint workshops and conferences, 2 awareness raising events.
