Deutsch-Spanische Logistkausbildung II
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Members of the project “DESPLA II” are – in addition to Kaufmännische Schule 1 Stuttgart – the partner vocational schools FEDA in Barcelona/ Madrid Spain, trainees of KS1 as well as dual partners, several logistics companies like Kühne+Nagel (located in Gärtringen), L. Wackler Wew. nachf. GmbH (Göppingen) as well as Rhenus (Fellbach), Mosolf (Illingen), Panterra (Schwäbisch Gmünd), Hellmann & Co. (Stuttgart) (effective March 2015) as well as cooperating companies in Barcelona / Madrid. The Kultusministerium Baden-Württemberg (ministry of education and cultural affairs), the Regierungspräsidium (regional authority), the Chamber of Commerce of Stuttgart region as well as the association of freight forwarders Baden-Württemberg support this project. What makes this project essential are the increasing international integration, especially in the field of logistics, the skills in modern languages and the knowledge of companies’ processes abroad. Here, the idea of a unified Europe plays an essential role as the trainees also gain knowledge about procedures and processes in companies in other EU countries. Besides, the apprentices learn about the way of life in the partner countries and extend their cultural competences as well as their understanding for other cultures. This project is supported/ reinforced by the letter of intent between the Ministerio de Educatión, Cultura y Deporte (ministry of education, culture and sports) of Spain and the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (Federal Ministry of Education and Research) Germany in the field of vocational training as well as through the campaign “We Mean Business” of European regions. The project especially serves the improvement of quality and expansion of Europe-wide mobility of young persons who pass their first vocational training. The project is a long-term business and should be realized in every (school) year. The project’s intent also is to make a job training in the logistics sector even more attractive. The project is run at FEDA school in Barcelona and FEDA school Madrid as well as in local logistics companies in the two cities. The trainees start their apprenticeship in Germany and then, uninterruptedly, continue their job training in Spain. During their stay in Spain the students’ classes take place at FEDA Barcelona / Madrid. The curricula are matched and additional language courses are offered. Subsequently to the block-release teaching in school, the apprentices continue their practical job training in a Spanish company. The companies that dispatch their trainees coordinate this practical part of the exchange with the help of FEDA. Taking account of the schedule of FEDA, the order of events is fixed. Thereby it is ensured that the trainees can take their final exams in Germany at the given dates. At the same time, the apprentices gain professional proficiency that goes beyond the basic educational objective as well as intercultural competence and additional language skills. The first group that will go abroad is planned to stay from August 2015 until the end of December 2015. The stay of the future group is intended to be one year later. During the stay abroad there is one complete theme-block including class tests in every subject as well as an adequately long employment and training period in a local company. The team for international relations of KS1 and the dispatching companies as well as the local vocational mentors arrange and support the project. Thus we ensure the project’s success. We regularly visit the training supervisors as well as the apprentices in Spain in order to ensure the success of the job training and the trainees’ integration on the spot.
