Deutsch-Polnisches Parkseminar Morawa

The German-Polish parkseminar Morawa is about the care of the protected heritage park of Morawa mansion in Lower Silesia/Poland. The participants with the age of 16 to 20 will spend one week togehter, work together in the park and live together in the youth meeting center in the Morawa mansion itself. Besides the general care and maintenance of the park the group will learn about constructing beehives and plaiting baskets out of willows from the park. Another focus willl lie on the inventorisation of heritaged stones from a chapelle in the park, which was destroyed during World War II. During the last two days of the project, also the local community will be invited to join the working groups and the workshops that will be offered. The project is supposed to give young people the opportunity to work in an intercultural surrounding on a concrete project, to gain a common outcome and to get in touch with each other. As the participants will be from schools with a focus on gardening, the project is also a possibility for them to get some orientation for their professional life. Furthermore, the project objective is it to raise the publicity of the park and to include the local community to contribute to it.
