design in tourism and protected areas - Trainees: Darja Kranjc and Erica Brunazzi (Project design in tourism and protected areas - Trainees: Darja Kranjc and Erica Brunazzi)
Start date: Dec 31, 2004, End date: Jun 29, 2006 PROJECT  FINISHED

The subjects involved in this project aim at training professionals who are familiar with and able to manage joint cross-border projects in the fields of tourism and the safeguard of protected areas in the cross-border Karst area. Specifically the project offers the opportunity to participate in a work experience to two subjects looking for a job, residing one in an eligible area in Italy and the other in an eligible area in Slovenia. They will have the chance to enter the labour market directly for a period of eight months. In this case, the two trainees will work at the J. Maritain International Institute in Trieste and at the Park Institute of the San Canziano Caves in Divača. From a technical point of view the trainees will acquire the ability to design, manage and produce an accounting report of cross-border actions concerning - with reference to the tourism sector - the restoration and renovation of infrastructures, research and documentation of the heritage, the drawing up of tourist promotional plans and activities, and - as regards the environment - the safeguard and enhancement of the naturalistic heritage and of protected areas.
