This project is based on an analysis of technological developments in the packaging sector. These developments are of particular interest to the paper and cardboard industry and will call for new skills for machine operators. Training centres, which are a priori best prepared to respond to the new skills needed, do not have sufficient resources to purchase very expensive industrial machines.The partnership proposes to develop a process simulator to respond to the needs identified.In the six phases of the project, the partners intend to:° define modules, in the form of databases, concentrating on printing and folding errors, their causes and the corresponding solutions;° carry out a functional analysis of the different machine procedures to be simulated, and develop a user interface;° develop models and translate the interface into English and German;° test and validate models for the modules;° carry out a global test on the various configurations;° produce and translate a user manual.The software will be simultaneously developed in French, English and German, available as a CD ROM or on the Internet.
