Design and management of cooperation and training activities for Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkans
Start date: Aug 31, 2002, End date: Aug 30, 2004 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project aimed at attaining a two-fold objective: strengthening relations between Eastern Veneto and the Republic of Slovenia; starting a process of cooperation between the two in the integrated area of university education and the labour market. Additionally, a third objective followed, consisting in the support to the development of international actions of the University Centre of Portogruaro, boasting so far two editions of an international Master’s Course in “Design and management of cooperation and training activities in Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkans”. The activities carried out led to the drawing up of a survey of the primary, secondary, university and advanced educational system, as well as the professional context and the labour market present in the whole cross-border area participating in the project. Subsequently three intensive study seminars were organised in Nova Gorica, Capodistria - Koper and Portogruaro. The seminars consisted in an analysis of the issues connected to university education in the cross-border area, a comparison of the legislative frameworks of the labour markets, and, on the occasion of the last seminar in Portogruaro, a presentation of the study currently under way, to outline the guidelines for future actions. Lastly, in order to ensure visibility to the project carried out, web pages were added to the website of the Municipality and an informational newsletter was distributed to the general public. The final results of the study are presented in a publication and a CD-Rom.
