Desarrollo de las competencias comunicativas en un entorno cultural europeo.
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

This project has been established and developed according to the needs of our organization and regarding to the development of quality and internationalization. Our school began the implementation of a multilingual program for the 2012-1013 school year to complete our educational offerings and improve our educational quality of the teaching-learning process. A very important element of this project is to provide training in foreign languages and international development projects. Our interest in this project focuses on the development of the following teachers´ skills: managing competence, methodological competence, linguistic competence and the European dimension that will allow us to have an international opening towards the rest of Europe. For many years our organization has supported the implementation of new technologies and language learning. 100% of our students choose English as a foreign language and get a degree of A2 level when they leave ESO (Compulsory Secondary Education). From the academic year 2014-2015 was implemented CLIL methodology in Primary and Secondary Education. Our teachers are encouraged and supported to study English and get qualifications according to the Common European Framework of References for languages. 17.4 % of our teachers already have a B2 level qualification or upper. The big number of teachers who are interested in English as a foreign language and “lingua franca” would benefit from this project to improve their language skills. The total number of participants on this project would be 21 teachers whose profiles could be defined as follows: teachers who belong to the teaching staff of our school with more than one year of experience and who are involved in processes of educational innovation in language teaching methodologies and CLIL. They are also members of the working group which is responsible for implementing the multilingual project of our school. These teachers have good capacity for teamwork and social interaction and are willing to transmit and share the knowledge and skills which might come from the training activity. They are truly committed to participate in activities to prepare the project which is being applied for by our organization. The activities to be carried out for the project will be of a different nature. The activities which take place before the mobility will be training activities to prepare for the participation in the activities of mobility and will consist of structured courses ( English courses, tools of Erasmus, Working meetings ) and our associated-partner organization ( English Matters) will provide us with educational materials for those “job shadowing” courses in Finland. The mobility activities will consist of "job shadowing" and Observations - Study in Finland, structured courses and English language courses. Later some activities will be developed for the evaluation and dissemination and spreading of the results obtained. The methodology to be used for this project will be very similar to the one which is suggested by the activities. Observation methods will be used in the case of 'job shadowing', analysis of best practices, CLIL methodology to use English as the language for teaching other subjects. Information will be provided about legal aspects and cultural traditions of the countries of destination in the preparation before the mobility. Training courses on the use of the latest technologies in the teaching-learning process will be also offered. The results we hope to get with this project will have an impact in different areas of our organization. Our teaching staff will benefit from the teaching practices, system of cooperative work and Finnish education system. The language skills and the ability to operate at the international level of our teachers will improve too. Teachers who take part in the project will influence the results and academic progress of their students. It will also have a direct impact on the parents who are interested in the educational and academic results of the students. Students will benefit from the project by means more effective methodologies, based on researching process, cooperative tasks, organization strategies of a classroom. All of this will help to achieve a collective success required by our organization. The long term benefits we may obtain will be related to the consolidation of our Multilingual program that will let us include the knowledge of the cultural diversity of our European environment in the developing of the teaching task. Our organization may establish contacts with other organizations that may enable future projects that would implya mobility of students under the Erasmus program in KA2 action. These latter long-term benefits would be very important to give our project an European dimension.
