Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Professor Manuel Broseta High School is a public school which was inaugurated in 1995. It is located in the town of Banyeres de Mariola, in the province of Alicante, Spain. From the beginning, the line followed by our school has been one of overtness, service and influence on the community. Our students can choose to follow their lessons in the two official languages and/or in a foreign language. Thus, we have three branches: one in “Valencian”, another in “Spanish” and the third, the so-called “Plurilingual” branch, in which some subjects are taught either in English or French. Our school belongs to the School Net with Plurilingual Teachers of the Valencian Community. Furthermore, as to Quality standards, it belongs to the School Net of Quality in Education (Level III) and it also has the Acknowledgement in Education Excellence, Category Q of Bronze (EFQM +300). We are not a big school. However, we teach ESO (Secondary Studies), Bachiller (A-levels), Ciclos Formativos (Vocational Training Courses), Programmes for Basic Professional Qualification and Basic Vocational Training. From a total of 342 pupils, 70 of them follow their studies through the plurilingual programme. Nowadays, there are 7 teachers in the plurilingual programme of the school. The subjects taught in English are Technology and Music. Arts, Natural Sciences and Biology & Geology are taught in French. The teachers involved are steady workers with great experience in the subjects they teach. Their desire to better their teaching is what has taken them to participate in the plurilingual programme. These teachers have a B2 qualification on the language in which they teach their lessons and they also have a Certificate of Qualification in Foreign Languages. Two of these teachers have a B1 qualification at the moment, but are working to join the rest of the staff in order to teach in our plurilingual programme. Our Erasmus + project will last two years. The programmed tasks are directed to 3 teachers: Jesús Bueno García. Course: “Français pour professeurs”. This course hopes to contribute and improve the communicative competence of the teacher in French, being taught in a specific way to the teachers of DNL. Exchange of experiences, new methodologies and the use of technology in education (EICT). Jesús Bueno García “Stage de perfectionnement linguistique” It develops and betters the linguistic competences in French. Different methodologies. French life and culture. Jorge Molina Rubio. Course: “ICT for Teaching”. Uses the principles of CLIL to create ICT recourses for teaching and learning. The course also introduces the participants in the usage of software tools on-line and in other tools such as podcasting, web 2.0 blogs, Wikis, Webquest, ePortfolio, etc. Jorge Molina Rubio. Course: “Active Methodology”. It updates the methodology, techniques and management abilities used in the classroom. It tries to make the participant debate, share ideas, problems, methods and techniques with other European teachers. Antonia Romero de la Monja. Curso: “Activate your English for teaching”. This course’s aim is to improve teachers’ communicative competence (oral fluency, vocabulary and pronunciation) at a B1+ or B2 level. Thus, participants will be able to use the English language in class with a greater ease and confidence. Antonia Romero de la Monja. Curso: CLIL: “Content and Language Integrated Learning". Addressed to teachers who want to teach their subject in English through a learn-research methodology. It will teach how to combine workshops, projects, schooltrips and social activities. Juan Ignacio Jara Bou. Curso “Enseignement des Sciences en Langue Française” The purpose of this course is to reinforce the general knowledge of the French language, deepen into scientific French as a non-linguistic speciality of the disciplines of Biology and Geology. Juan Ignacio Jara Bou. Curso “Cours Français Langue Générale” The objectives are: to deepen into specific grammar, syntactic and lexic points as well as to practise speaking at the level of a conference speecher. We expect that the participants of these courses will achieve a better intellectual and metalinguistic performance, and a positive attitude towards the language, their inhabitants and culture. In short, these courses will boost the concept of European dimension even more. The impact on our teachers' professional field will be a greater assurance and fluency in the classroom, and the use of a greater amount of resources. As to our students, they will be much more motivated and this will thus have a beneficial effect on their education. To sum up, carrying out the programmed activities will have a very positive effect on the European dimension of our school, its students and our local environment. This will enable us to associate Erasmus + KA2 with other European members in the future and, therefore, benefit of its advantages.
