Start date: Aug 1, 2014, End date: Jan 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Democracy? Simply classy! is a youth exchange, that will be held in Březová na Vysočině, Czech Republic from 23.10 -31.10. 2014 developed by young people for the young people aged mainly 13-18. This youth exchange is inclusive in order that all willing participants have the opportunity to take part in. The project has been created because of the needs of youngsters as I felt the urgency of respecting and understanding the concept of democracy. The main aim of the project is to enrich the awareness of young people and children who are still in school educational process to understand what is and what is not democracy, what advantages and disadvantages does it have and how is the concept considered in each participating countries. I see the biggest potential in this project in the fact that all participants will get the idea of democratic thinking and they will have to communicate in English in different situations. While sharing a week with people from different backgrounds, all participants will have to make compromises, learn the others as well as learn from the others. All these circumstances lead to more critical way of thinking, independent and objective decisions and liberal, but at the same time fact and experience-based, opinions. The key task for participants will be learn as many new information related to the topic as possible in order to use them during the main project which they are going to create. They will be in a groups teaching locals about what they have learned so far and mainly about their cultural background, about how the democracy is perceived in their countries and other related issues. The participants will have an opportunity to meet new people, work in international groups on various tasks, learn about their countries’ cultures and history, create short videos, posters and presentations and get to know the local reality of vysočina region and organize their own thematic activities for each other. Each day will be based on active work of participants, who will create the programme together with the help of their national leaders. The official language of the project is English. The participants are young people from 13 - 18 years old who do not have to be concerned in the topic of democracy so much but they want to know something about it and learn from the others as well as get to know people from different environment. There will be 5 people (age 13-18 years) + 1 leader from Georgia, Ukraine, Armenia, Czech Republic, Estonia and Poland.
