DEMOCRACY - A WAY TO ACHIEVE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

The European Training "Democracy - a way to achieve Sustainable Development" will take place from 08th - 19th July 2011 in Ia?i, Romania. Participants will be 25 young people from Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, France, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Serbia, Romania, Turkey, and Ukraine.The European training Democracy - a way to achieve Sustainable Development approaches the themes of democracy, sustainable development and active citizenship.The objectives of the project are: raising the participants' awareness as European citizens on the importance of active volunteer participation in the society; training the participants as active citizens in defending and promoting the principles and values of democracy and sustainable development; promoting the non-formal education and democratic methods of involvement for the sustainable development of the community; making an intercultural exchange. The training includes various activities such as Input of trainers on Sustainable development, Democracy and Active citizenship, Celebration of European Year of Volunteering, presentation of materials Decision-making process and ways of involvement in decision-making process throgh volunteering in my country, practical exercise on Active Citizenship, study case through role play Decision making process in democracy, and others. The training will use methods of non formal education such as workshops, brainstorming, study cases, practical activities, role-playing games, energizers, team building exercises, good practices examples. The participants will receive professional Training Kit and informative materials to support the development of future projects and active participation at European level.
