Deeper into Deep Intercultural Learning

This is a long term group EVS project involving 3 EVS volunteers from Poland, Lithuania and Germany doing their EVS service in Armenia for 12 months starting from 1st of March 2014. The volunteers will be doing their EVS service at International Center for Intercultural Research, Learning, and Dialogue.The themes of the project are art and culture and urban/rural development. The main activities of the volunteers will be supporting the host organisation in doing intercultural explorations and organizing training coursing on ICL in Armenia. Some parts the activities will be held in Yerevan (the Capital of Armenia) and some parts will be carried out in various Armenia distant regions, including deprived urban and rural areas with the support and supervision of the host organisation (ICIRLD) which is one of the leading organisations in Armenia on intercultural research and education.The objectives of the project are:-raising EVS volunteers' intercultural sensitivity and sense of active participation while developing and carrying out various tasks on ICL. The volunteers will be indulged into the “world of intercultural learning” and actively develop their sense of initiative and decision making,-increasing intercultural awareness and level of sensitivity among young people with various backgrounds (ethnic minority groups, foreign students, young people from deprived urban and rural areas who face also unemployment problems, etc) living in Armenia who will be participants of the ICIRLD's educational activities assisted by EVS volunteers,-developing cooperation between sending and host organisations involved in the project while strengthening already existing trustful cooperation and leaving room for future projects within EVS and other actions of YiA and/or new youth programme of EC starting from 2014,-promoting new youth programme of EC, especially EVS, among young people and YNGOs from Yerevan and distant regions of Armenia and encouraging their participation.
