DECIPHER: Development and Export of Culture Information for Employers

The project took the success of the Leonardo BioCulture project and transfered the products and processes to new geographical regions. These were Aragon (Spain), Bretagne (France), Yorks & Humber (UK) and Sicily (Italy). It also made this transfer to new sectors in the East of England (UK) and Ostrabothnia (Finland), who had been partners in BioCulture. The aim of the project was to support the growth of SMEs in these regions through the development of their management skills with regard to international communications. The culture reports were innovative in that they were written by business for business, developed originally by RLN East and UKTI East of England, and enhanced through the BioCulture project. The project consisted of 3 main phases: Phase 1 was the survey of 160 SMEs in the agrifood and hi-tech manufacturing sectors to understand their business culture needs when exporting. Phase 2 was the adatation of existing culture reports to the partner regions, and phase 3 was the testing of these resources through a series of workshops. Some language training was also foreseen as a result of this project.
