Dealing with Change - Creation of a user-friendly, internet-based training environment for people with disabilities

This project will develop a user-friendly, internet based environment for people with disabilities, with the aim of improving decision-making and problem-solving skills and increasing the use of new technologies in the workplace.Initially, the project will develop a methodological training guide on 'Skills Development for those Facing Change', the guide will focus upon workplace change and the management of collective knowledge and will be output in both EN & ES. It is expected that the guide will act as a common tool in the field of vocational training, particular to the target group.Secondary developments will be in the design and introduction of an internet-based training platform able to host the end training product. The platform will host the relevant support tools and materials to develop the problem-solving and decision-making skills of disabled persons in the workplace, making particular use of the ICT learning environment. The platform will feature a specialist area for support staff, for the construction of new training areas and designated areas for end-user access, to include a library of training areas, a virtual classroom, a meeting place and a series of discussion forums.Piloting of the platform will be undertaken across the partner countries with a group of 150 individuals from the target sector with findings influencing the final product release.Dissemination is planned via both electronic (registration with search engines, electronic mailings, pop-up banners and web-links to other relevant sites) and traditional (attendance at relevant seminars and conferences, release of articles to relevant press & journals and a final transnational promotional event) means.
