DE PRÁCTICAS EN PORTUGAL
Start date: Jul 1, 2014, End date: Jun 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project was named ""Work experience in Portugal"" because it consisted in performing the ""Training at work"" module in companies of the Portuguese city of Almada. It was proposed as an extension of the one that during the term 2013-14, and under the name of ""Work experience in Italy"", was developed along with IPSIA A. Ferrari in the Italian city of Maranello, although, of course, in a completely different geographical setting. This project enabled 4 students from middle-level vocational training to perform their ""Training at work"" module (nine weeks) in companies in the city of Almada (Portugal). The project was carried out from a clear division of tasks and activities among the partners and participants: - the applicant, who handled all the organization and planning, especially the selection of participants, their linguistic and cultural preparation and all aspects related to logistics and documentation. The heads of vocational studies were responsible for it. - the intermediary partner( non-commercial), who provided acommodation and companies and supervised the development of the project. Its European programmes coordinator was responsible for it . - the host partners, who joined the project later, and were companies that usually work with the intermediary partner for the work placements of their own students. They ensured that the training agreement previously adopted was totally accomplished. The instructor of the company was responsible for it . - Participating students, who had to follow the provided linguistic and cultural preparation and fulfill all the tasks in the training agreement . The needs boarded were basically: 1) For the participants: -Getting the learning results of ""Training at Work"" module set in the curriculum of every training cycle. -Learning to fend for themselves in a different geographical, cultural and linguistic environment. 2) For the institution: -Improving cooperation between institutions and companies across Europe. -Improving recognition of qualifications at European level, giving full effect to the mobility as ""Training at work"" module. The main objectives and expected outcome were to satisfy the requirements set out above. The expected impact for the institution was twofold: firstly, it helped the students to strive to get better marks in first grade and behave in a mature and responsible manner, as it has been seen in projects implemented earlier, thus they will be more likely to be beneficiaries of a mobility grant. In addition, the project has allowed to continue the internationalization process of the institution, which is one of the objectives of its long-term strategy.
