Start date: Jul 1, 2014, End date: Jan 1, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

ADJ vzw - de Hoge Rielen is a youth residence, under administration of the Flemish government (General Service for Youth Tourism). De Hoge Rielen is located in the municipality of Kasterlee, in the province of Antwerp. Kasterlee is situated in Flandres, the Dutch-speaking part of Belgium. The municipality is at about 85 km (1 hour on the train) from Brussels (the capital of Belgium). The main objective of de Hoge Rielen is offering quality lodging (17 buildings and 15 camping grounds) for groups and individuals, in priority to youth groups. This allows groups to accomplish their operation and activities. All are main activities are in line with the character of the groups that reside on the domain: providing good maintenance of the lodges, giving people a warm welcome, preparing meals with attention for ecological principles, creating an active and educational qualitative programme outdoors. The focus in our programme is youth leisure and education through sport and outdoors activities: encourage independence, offer opportunities to discover and create unique experiences, reinforce group feeling, learn new skills,? . Learning by experience is one of our principles. Participation of youngsters plays a main role in our organisation. Since 2012 de Hoge Rielen is both a host organisation as a coordinating organisation. Every year we host 2 EVS volunteers. This year is the duration of the voluntary service 5 months, from July to November. The tasks of the volunteer are based on 2 profiles: tasks focusing on service (keep open the bar, retrieve and deliver orders at home,?) and tasks focusing on support and guidance activities (guide activities, prepare activities for the holidays evening, support the lending service,?).We find a right match between the qualities / the skills of the volunteer and her expectations / targets important.. Informal learning is the basic. We?ll provide a good introducing programme and a permanent evaluation throughout the learning process of the volunteer. The countries involved are the Russian Federation and Spain. The sending organisations Sfera and Ayuntamiento de Murcia ? Servico de Juventad send each 1 volunteer. Sfera is the sending organisation of the Russian Federation. The aim of the organisation is development and support of youth initiatives by providing young people with access to volunteering regardless of nation, religious, social status and disadvantages. The main activities are: international voluntary workamps, EVS and other long-term voluntary projects for youth, educational activities for youngsters and organizations involved in social service, promotion campaigns of volunteering, charity and social services. Ayuntamiento de Murcia ? Servico de Juventad is the sending organisation of Spain. The Youth Municipal Service is the local administration in charge of youth policies. Their main purpose is responding to the actual needs of the youth from the Municipality of Murcia: promotion of youth participation and associations as a tool for participation, providing the needed resources to manage it; create leisure alternatives for young people during weekends and so avoid risks; activate educational activities and enable the comprehensive training of students;-inform and document young people about subjects of their concern, provide counselling regarding legal matters, sex, housing,... The sending organisations will provide a good EVS training before the departure of the volunteer. The coöperation is based on good, frequent and efficient communication and making good agreements where the volunteer stay central. The sending organisations talk to volunteers about their expectations, rights and responsibilities; they go through these topics and make sure they are aware of the environment and society.
