DE GUSTIBUS
Start date: Nov 1, 2014, End date: Oct 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

TThe project "De Gustibus" will last 24 months and is addressed to 50 students in Initial Vocational Training (3rd and 4th year) who are attending the Istituto Alberghiero IPSSAR "G. Marchitelli" (Technical Secondary School for Catering,Tourism and Hospitality) located in Villa Santa Maria (CH). “De Gustibus” project meets the need to further qualify the young human resources that are studying at this Institute through an internship lasting 1 month in foreign companies operating in the food and wine tourism field (including hotels, restaurants, and accommodation facilities). The project aims at upgrading the students’ skills within the food and wine tourism industry which is sharply rising at national and regional level and is subject to offer new and qualified employment opportunities (Reform of the National Tourism Legislation- Law n. 135/2001; Code of Tourism - Legislative Decree No. 79/2011; Regional Support measures to companies operating in the tourism sector - L. R. n.77 / 2000). Thanks to the work placements abroad, it will be offered an opportunity for a learning "on the job" experience in foreign companies, in order to integrate the students’ formal training and ensure the improvement of their entrepreneurial and professional abilities especially regarding: technical and professional abilities in the specific field of food and wine tourism; the ability to move in an increasingly open market and to assess the opportunities arising from such growing openness; the ability to meet the needs of reception of new wine and food tourists ; the ability to boost the reception performance of companies in the tourism industry . In order to ensure a successful project it has been formed a consortium of regional and transnational partner organisations which are constantly committed to professional development and training of young human resources and the area’s qualitative growth within the wine and food tourism sector. The partners organisations are institutions, employer associations, companies and social partners that work together to promote a cooperation of quality and enhance knowledge/skills of young people. It is underlined that the project’s activities have been planned in line with the principles and criteria set up by European Quality Charter for Mobility regarding: selection methods, learning plans, personalisation, linguistic aspects, logistic support and learning outcome recognition.
