Czech Students at Boerma Instituut
Start date: Sep 1, 2014, End date: Aug 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our project Czech Students at Boerma Instituut is based on the need to ensure adequately internship abroad for our VET students. Our gardening students who are largely (or as minor) devoted to floristry want to (and have to) acquire inspiration and experience at one of the best flower studios around the entire world. This place is named Boerma Instituut. It is a company that focuses on the sale of flowers , a designer working with flowers , as well as on practical courses in floristry. It is not just a flower school. Two groups of our students should take part at the internhip in the Netherlands. Because we´d like to send abroad our VET students who would normally not take part in similar activities, it is very important for us to manage this project. It is usual that the participants of such internships are mainly college students or those students from study fields with a focus on language skills. We want to encourage directly students from a crafty study field which includes also creativity. To the Netherlands should go students of the second, third and fourth grade. Mostly underage students. Therefore, we plan to send with them an accompanying person. Overall 28 pupils should take part in the project. These members will emerge from the selection procedure. The project will begin by selecting procedure. After this we´ll have list of participants. We will then implement the linguistic and cultural-organizational preparation. After all of this, two groups of students will go for their internship to Netherlands (fall 2014 and spring 2015). The project period is one year. We will use valid contracts which will ensure the cooperation between partners in the project. Contracts will be signed also with the participants. The program will focus on bouquets with different topics and for different interiors/occasions. In addition, students will have to take care of cut flowers, their storage, delivery of goods and the handling of client orders. They will also have to worry about the flower shop management. The result of our project will be practical placements for our students, their professional development, gaining new professional skills and better initial conditions for their careers or set up of a business. Students will exercise conversation in English, which they´ll use here in the Czech Republic as well. We´d like also to disseminate results and information about the program Erasmus+. We will inform the media and other stakeholders. Mainly in Olomouc region. We are applying for a very precisely prepared project, which is based on a similar experience from our past project Leonardo da Vinci. We build on a partnership with Boerma Instituut, which is based on good relations already. The project should help to increase the prestige of vocational education, as well as the growth of students´ mobility in vocational education.
