Cut the Ice
Start date: Aug 1, 2016, End date: Jan 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Project titled "Cut the ice" is an international youth exchange which is effect of long weeks of common effort and cooperation between members of youth organizations from: The Netherlands, Lithuania, Slovakia, Romania, and Poland and it will be organized within the frames of Erasmus + Program. It will be organized between 16'th and 23'th of October 2016. The guest organization Youth Association Strateg is based in Poland. There will be around 40 participants aged 18 to 25 from various cultural, religious and social circles. The main goal is to lead intercultural dialogue, working out methods for promotion of social awareness in the area regarding fight with stereotypes, xenophobia. We believe that project's effects will be further promoted by the participants in their home countries. We would first and foremost like to reach young europeans with the message, that you should not be afraid of diversity and try to fight with it but to try to understand it. Young people will be made aware that "other" does not mean worse in any way. We would like to change approach to cultural differences, social inclusion and to support youth, that is discriminated for various reasons. Owing to the methods of non-formal education like workshops on various subjects, interactive games, discussion panels, brain-storming, we would like to increase our knowledge, gain new competencies and exchange experiences in international setting. Young people need understanding in the areas close to racism and xenophobia. We are convinced, that youth will be able to use this knowledge in the international arena. Gained knowledge will be promoted in the academic and local publications.
