CulturMoves
Start date: Mar 1, 2015, End date: Dec 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

In the international youth culture project „Culture Moves“, 60 young participants aged between 13 and 30, originating from Sweden, Italy, Portugal, Belgium and Germany, worked together to develop their own multi-artistic live performance and then presented this publically on the stage in the artshouse in Uddebo, Sweden. In the course of the wide-ranging activities – which included jam sessions, interviews, street music, ensemble rehearsals, studio recordings, silkscreen print studio, the creation of a radio station and workshops on the themes circus arts, dance, composition, percussion, bass guitar, guitar, drums, aural training for singing, songwriting, event presentation, storytelling, welding and woodcut art – the participants developed cognitive and motor skills, learning competencies, computer literacy, personal initiative and entrepreneurial competence, cultural awareness and cultural powers of expression. Through various methods such as the “dialogue-based teaching concept”, “discovery learning” and “action-oriented learning”, the young people pooled their talents and potential and worked together for 14 days. The collaborative process in the group and working towards shared success allowed the participants to experience and practice democratic decision-making processes and conflict-resolution models. This in turn strengthened the sense of responsibility for the community and encouraged civic involvement as well promoted the sharing of, and active participation in, social and cultural life.
