Start date: Jan 31, 2011, End date: Jul 30, 2013 PROJECT  FINISHED

Historical and cultural heritage of SEE is multifaceted. Cultural values represent both regional and territorial identity and a key-factor of sustainable development. The CULTEMA project aims at developing a shared marketing strategy to increase cultural heritage investments, establishing new institutional capabilities and implementing innovative governance patterns, able to reduce administrative, social and economic barriers among cultural heritage and potential investors. The project looks at Cultural values, not with a perspective of investor convenience, but as a factor of economic growth. Starting from the census and the assessment of cultural properties, the priority lists will be defined and integrated in PPs development plans, as well as some pilot business model will be implemented, with the involvement of the local communities and of the stakeholders. Opportunities for investments in the field of cultural heritage will be defined and promoted at the broader audience as well as information services delivered, especially through the web platform and the Permanent CULTEMA Laboratory Network. Achievements: • Web-based cultural heritage platform• CULTEMA governance toolkit to be used in rehabilitation of built heritage• Cultural territorial marketing for Southeast Europe• Heritage for development - territorial marketing of specific heritage sitesFor more information see:
