BACKGROUND:Our young and innovative school is currently establishing senior classes (school year 9-12) and is therefore highly interested in exchanging teaching methods that can be integrated into our modern concept of teaching. The Training Course is to promote an international exchange of ideas and should facilitate networking with other schools.OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES:The training course will raise the quality of our competencies in the following areas * In the area of language competence: when teaching a foreign language a regular and authentic contact with the language is vital. The stay in the country will enhance expression, pronounciation and comprehension of the language, aswell as an authentic access to the culture and the people of the UK* In the area of curriculum and organisation: * In the field of European dimension:Through a lively communication and cooperation with international partners, we can support the intercultural competence of our teachers. We will implement international acitivties that are especially crucial in the development of our new senior classes, where the focus is on enhancing and enabling 'open-mindedness' for our students in many different areas.* In the area of drama techniques and creative language teaching:The participant will acquire a comprehensive variety of engaging and productive activities that are designed to complement language learning by encouraging the English language students with a real desire to listen, speak and write fluently, actively and creatively.NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS: 1IMPLEMENTATION AND EVALUATION:The trainig course is conducted by a leading teacher training TEFL organisation and language training provider.Qualified trainers ensure the achievement of the above listed study aims. Sustainable quality assurance and evaluation after the training course are an integrated part of the project.SUSTAINABILITY AND TRANSFER OF KNOWLEDGE The participant will use his knowledge, skills and abilities in the classroom. Moreover he will pass it on in our regular team meetings and workshops in order to enrich the school policy with new international aspects.International partnerships will be established to support the exchange of cultures and the authentic use of the language.All these aspects are of great interest to our school, as we have started our senior classes in autumn this year. Our open-minded approach shall enable our students to become self-confident, intelligent, socially-capable personalities. Here international collaborations (e.g. with the help of the eTwinning platform) are of crucial interest for our school.
