CULTOUREST - Échange de méthodologies pour la restauration du patrimoine culturelle européen (CULTOUREST)
Start date: Dec 31, 2004, End date: May 29, 2007 PROJECT  FINISHED

The CULTOUREST project aims to solve problems in the restoration sector for both buildings and works of art that result from the use of different methodologies and a lack of professionals and thorough theoretical knowledge. Collaboration amongst the partners should help mitigate the negative effects of poor-quality restoration on the regions’ heritage. Overall objective / Objectif général The general objective of the CULTOUREST project is to exchange good practices and methodologies in the field of restoration of both buildings and works of art and to promote cultural heritage through the creation of routes that will showcase the artefacts restored through the project. Based on the identification of cultural routes and monuments for protection through the previous Cultourmed project, the partners hope to develop a restoration methodology and to improve policies in their respective territories. Expected results / Résultats attendus The partners will identify new restoration methodologies by sharing experiences; draw up a manual of good restoration practices; promote the heritage of the regions participating in the project through the restoration of buildings and works of art; and create tourist routes to show the restoration work done. Training and information workshops will be held and a European network in the field of restoration will be set up.
