Start date: Sep 1, 2014, End date: Nov 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project addresses the mental health of young people, area where the services in Romania are far from European and World Health Organization standards. The project will support the improvement of quality of early diagnosis services, improvement of the legal framework concerning assistance to young people with mental health disorders and a positive change of the public perception of mental health disorders, increasing the access of these young people to an adequate therapy in a timely manner, thus increasing their chances of social and professional integration The project will involve young people and representatives of NGOS and public institutions in the development of proposals for the improvement of legislation in the field of assistance for young people with mental health disorders, proving the effectiveness of interventions of civil society in solving serious problems A serious barrier in providing support to adolescents with mental health of disorders is the current legislative framework, which does not allow interventions on minors unless parents consent, regardless of the seriousness of the problems. Parents are often unable to accept that the problems of children are real and important, and still remain in the stage of denial of problems until they become explosive, at which point you cannot make too much. Thus, many children and young people with problems are excluded from any form of therapy, whether it comes to behavioral disorders, substance addiction, depression with suicidal tendencies. Project goal: Increase the chances of social inclusion of youth with mental health disorders by facilitating their access to specialized services in the context of a public private partnership.
