Crossroads of the Pre-Christian Heritage
Start date: Feb 1, 2013,

The project “The Crossroads of the Pre-Christian Heritage” is designed as a youth exchange of 10 working days, which would be held in mountainous town Aghavnadzor, Armenia, from 8 till 18 April 2013. The main theme of the exchange is the pre-Christian (pagan) culture in the European countries and beyond. In the youth exchange 30 participants from 6 countries (Armenia, Ukraine, Moldova, Bulgaria, Latvia, Slovenia) will be participating. Half of the participants will be active young people - youth leaders, representing NGOs dealing with the topic of intercultural dialogue and the other half - young people from deprived urban and rural areas. The objectives of this project are: to raise the participants' intercultural awareness through providing them with a space and to encouraging them to investigate the pagan roots of their own as well as other nations, to share this knowledge with their peers from different countries, to make comparisons and conclusions about the links between the ancient cultures in Europe and beyond, thus raising their sense of European Citizenship, and to foster dialogue between active young people and youth from deprived urban and rural areas through active participation and interculturality. During the project, the participants will get some theoretical knowledge on the pre-Christian culture-related topic, as well as will participate in a number of practical activities (discussions, presentations, performances, outdoor activities, etc.).During the Activity the methods of non-formal learning will be applied (such as ice-breakers, workshops, outdoor activities, etc.). The dimension of intercultural learning is a relevant axis of the project.
