The funding helped to improve cross-border collaboration between athletes in the South Great Plain region (Hódmezovásárhely, Kecskemét) and Romania (Oradea). The objective of the project was to provide as much time and space and as many opportunities as possible for children to get to know and make friends with each other, to understand and accept each other and to get an insight into each other´s everyday lives. Keeping the principle of reciprocity in mind, it was important to organize the event both in Hungary and in Romania. Collaboration was established, which strengthened the feeling of cohesion and connectedness in the athletes as well as in the civilians belonging to the broader target group (organizers, fans). Associations which accepted partnership in the project were represented in the training camps and swimming competitions, many times exceeding the participation rate undertaken in the project.
