Cross-border co-operation in healthy exercise
Start date: Jun 30, 2005, End date: Dec 30, 2007 PROJECT  FINISHED

The main goal of the project is to create and implement a strategy of health-promoting exercise for the Estonian and Finnish municipalities as an integral part of their planning and strategic operations. The aim is to embed the health-promoting exercise in the basic functions of the municipalities and to encourage its development through the intersectoral cooperation. These targets will be reached by organising international and national seminars and providing strategy training of the health-promoting exercise. In addition, the project will produce training material for other municipalities to support the future strategic planning. The project will also hold a cooperation seminar together with the Third Sector and organise special events of health-promoting exercise for the citizens of the partner municipalities. The strategy and good practices behind the project are developed by the Active Living members of the WHO Network of European National Healthy Cities Networks.
