The project Creativity in the English Classroom came to existence because of the need to develop the methodological competences of the English teachers at our school. Together with our partners (three language schools from Great Britain and Ireland) we organised 5 week stays and classes specialized in discussions about the existing and modern methods of teaching English as the second language. Five of our English language teachers participated in this courses and began to think about their teaching methods in a new way. These teachers improved also their ability to speak fluently about various methodological issues, which have brought them greater confidence in their profession in the future. This project had been supported by our school. Our school came to a closer contact with the partner institutions and helped the participants prepare for their stay abroad, but also ensure their flight tickets, insurance and arrange all financial matters. This project has enlived the discussions about the methodology of TESL, but has also brought much profit to our students who definitely experienced the improvement of their teachers´ competences.
