The project is part of an initiative to improve the quality of teaching at school, especially regarding a growing diversity of students.The aim of this project is to improve the quality of teaching English. The participant is to take part in a two-week-course called "Creativity in the Classroom". This course is for experienced English teachers from Europe working with secondary school students. It covers a wide range of how to use new methods and methodologies. They should improve the creativity of students and promote differentiation in the classroom. The topics include creative writing, language games, drama techniques, using art, poems, and storytelling as well as teaching beyond the coursebook. The focuss of the course is a practical one but it offers a fresh look at language didactics, too.Before taking part in the seminar, the participant is to prepare the contents of the course. After completing the course the participant should apply and evaluate the new methods. Apart from that she should pass on the newly achieved competencies to the members of the English department, the staff respectively. Creative methods should be applied by other collegues and implemented in their teaching, too.As for the participant, we expect a development of linguistic skills and intercultural awarness as outcomes of this course.
