Creatividad y plurilingüísmo en el CEIP Montgó

In the CEIP Montgó, our main aim is that our students acquire a Communicative Competence in the English language with accuracy and appropiateness. It belongs to the “Red de Centros Plurilingües de la Comunidad Valenciana” and it has been started to teach a non linguistic subject, that is, Arts and Craft, for the first cycle of Primary School. Next year, the students of the second cycle will start to receive Arts and Crafts in English as well.
In order to achieve this goal, most of the teachers in the school are participating in a formative process in English by a native teacher, with the support of the CEFIRE. The course is about CLIL methodology. Our Methodological needs are much greater and we want to send to Dublin five of our teachers that are interested in improving the linguistic capacities in the English language. The courses take place the first fortnight of august and they are very helpful to our personal and professional experience. The fact to attend to different courses will create a multiplier effect in the adquisition of our new knowledge.
On coming back, the teachers will start to use in class all the knowledge acquired during their formative process. All the students' and teachers' works will be shown in the project blog, in the local mass media and at the end of the school year we will do an exposition in the Casa de la Cultura in Dénia. We will show the activities in the blog and we will use the platforms You Tube and SlideShare.
At the beginning of the school year, the teachers that have taken the courses will show the new tecniques and methodologies to the other teachers. The English teachers will share the knew knowledge with their pupils, so at the end all the students from the school will make profit from the experience.
To evaluate the outcomes of the project, we will make comparative studies of the students´academic results in foreign language wtith those achieved by students of the same level in different school years. We will compare as well the number of visits received in the school web page during the school year 2015/16 where the blog would be included in the project with the ones from the last school year.
At the end of the first term, the school will participate in two projects e-Twinning with the teachers we will meet in Dublin and we will keep in touch after the summer course or through the e-Twinning net. One of the e-Twinning will be done with the Primary pupils and the other with the Pre-primary pupils. Both activities will finish in June 2016 and we will try to forget the basis for future partnetships.
With this project we intend to improve our students' oral skills. We want to increase their eargerness for the study of foreign languages. We want to improve their accademic results. And finally through getting in contact with the works of other european students we want to make them aware of their European identity.
We want to make our school a point of reference in the teaching of languages and we think that we can get it with the effort and enthusiasm of all our teachers team.
