Creatividad e innovación: hacia un bilingüismo de calidad
Start date: Jul 1, 2016, End date: Jun 30, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our project is entitled “Creativity and Innovation: towards Quality Bilingualism”. It is set in the context of foreign language teaching and is especially aimed at the teaching of English .With a bilingual section which has been working for 5 years now , we have the inminent necessity of looking for new ways and innovative creative methodologies that revitalize the educational activities which are developed in this centre. For this reason, it is absolutely necessary for both language specialised and non-specialised language teaching staff to receive adequate training so as to deliver a good standard of bilingual education. Our project has been devised by highly enthusiastic and motivated teachers from our school. Being all of them specialized in foreign language teaching or subjects which are taught in English in the bilingual section of our centre, in English. The course which we have selected is entitled “Creative Activities and Motivating Materials for the Secondary Classroom (ages 10-19)”. It meets the above-mentioned needs in that it combines two fundamental elements in foreign language teaching: innovation and creativity. This applies to both the teaching ideas and materials to use in the classroom, all of which will contribute to student motivation. On the other hand, the exchange of experiences with other European teachers participating in the course will be a great asset. In the preliminary stage of the project, the participants will fill in a detailed questionnaire indicating their teaching experience and different ages and characteristics of their students as well as their goals and performances which will be carried out both during and after the mobility. This information will be shared with the rest of professionals. The school’s follow-up on the project will consist of applying all the knowledge and experience acquired during the course to the classroom. The most direct recipients of all the activities included in this project will be our students. Secondly, the teaching staff will also benefit from them through the different workshops aimed at sharing and exchanging materials and skills acquired in the course for its consequent application in the classroom. These workshops may also be extended to other schools in the area, so that they can reach a large number of teachers and students. We expect that the project will have a positive impact on the professional skills of the teachers through an increase in creativity and motivation when teaching their respective subjects. Furthermore, we firmly believe that the project will serve to provide us with a deeper knowledge of the British culture and education system, together with that of other European countries, through the exchange of experiences with professionals from these countriesIn order to fulfill the purpose of developing further European projects in the future, we will use e-Twinning as a primary tool. Therefore, our project will also contribute to an improvement in the implementation of ICT in the classroom. All of this with a clear goal:Improving the success of all students.
