Creative Teaching

All the above courses focused on the development of creativity in teaching and learning using a variety of methods, including imagination, ICT, English language and other teaching strategies against the criteria of the 21st century's skills. Each course contributed, in different way, to the development and the realization of our school's vision for "Creative and Happy School". Participants acquired new teaching techniques, methodologies and skills to improve their teaching profile and lessons and they met new materials to facilitate learning. Consequently, pupils of the school benefited, enjoyed school life and learning procedures and learnt to use their talents and imagination in the classroom. There were two participants in the project. They were capable in using computers and other technological staff. They introduced innovative approaches in teaching processes, they were creative, talented and energetic. They had leadership abilities and they undertook different project responsibilities and initiatives which they implemented successfully. One of the participants was the English teacher of our school and had a four years involvement in the CLIL programme. Activities of the courses included learning of new creative teaching techniques, the experience of creative theories and strategies matched with practical activities, icebreaking and introductions, problem solving, thinking inside and outside the box, challenging and changing behaviours, setting targets and rewards, practical ideas for the incorporation of technology into lessons, sharing of best practice in teaching and learning as well as practical ideas for classroom management, lesson planning and materials development using the English language. Methodologies for the development of the project included workshops, presentation of therotical and practical knowledge and strategies, classroom practise, sharing of experience and group work. The experience and the knowledge acquired from the program, enforced teachers' profile with new ideas, methodologies and strageties for creative teaching. Pupils of our school benefited as well since learning process became more creative.
