The kindergartens of Zeimelis, Lithuania and Rundale, Latvia are located just 12 km from each other, making them ideal project partners. They are seeking to strengthen cross-border cooperation on children's health and teaching of customs and traditions of their neighbours. Various events have been organised to this end, including Health Days for children and parents, a festival, concerts and a summer camp for children, IT training and seminars for educators. The project was also focused on the preparation of teaching aids in both Latvian and Lithuanian to introduce children to the traditions of the Zemgale region. These also included exercises on how to keep correct body posture. The website www.vaikuugdymas.eu was designed to compile information about the project, Lithuanian and Latvian customs and traditions, dates and venues of events, and host a forum where members of the Rundale and Zeimelis communities can discuss their interests and share ideas. Achievements: Within the project:• Seminars were organized on such topics: "Health protection and fortifying in kindergartens"; "Latvian and Lithuanian traditional folk culture maintenance and development in Zemgale border region"; "Summer camp organization experience"; "National instruments".• IT courses for educators from Zeimelis kindergarten "Ąžuoliukas" were organized. • Health days were organized which related to folk traditions, Pancake day and Easter. During Health days Latvian and Lithuanian children played games together, learned new things about Lithuanian and Latvian traditions.• Informational leaflets and various souvenirs have been produced.
