Craftspeople Experience Exchange- Berufliche Optionen innerhalb Europs
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The German vocational school “Gewerbliche Schule Im Hoppenlau” will send 20 of its trainees (or students if you will) to its twin school in Oulu, Finland which is also a vocational school. Butchers, bakers, confectioners, beauticians and hairdressers (2 each per year) will attend job training courses in Finland according to their chosen profession. They will gain experience with the way Finish handcrafted products are made and get to know another approach to work. However, the German trainees will also share the experience they have made with the dual vocational training which is unique to Germany . They will give talks on their companies where they are trained on the job as well as on the vocational school where they get practical and theoretical education. As the twin school in Oulu also has students training to work in the tourism industry, those students will show the German guests around. That way, the German trainees will have even more opportunities to get to know Finish culture as well as seeing interesting sites. During their stay the trainees will stay in a rather simple dorm situated in the woods 14 km from the centre of Oulu which belongs to the twin school. “Craftspeople Experience Exchange” will improve, among others, the social, organizing and linguistic skills (the lingua franca being English) of those involved and require their willingness to adopt to new conditions and surroundings.
