Crafts, between customs and challenges

Our foundation organized a bilateral youth exchange in surroundings of Debrecen, Hungary , in the period of 9-17 of May 2015, in which participated 34 youths from Romania and Hungary. The project aimed: - to find solutions to endear with the youngsters the crafts, to motivate them to learn and practice the crafts in order to save them from disappearing and to save the multiculturalism of Europe - to find solutions to transform the crafts into income sources in order to help the people who practice them to get out from the impasse, from the disadvantaged situation they are in During the youth exchange, the participants got acquainted with, and experienced different crafts, participated in brainstorming, took part in a so called rural day in order to experience the daily tasks of the villagers and to get aware of the real, traditional values of life. The project developed a wide range of skills of the participants like the communication in foreign languages, especially in English, initiative and entrepreneurship, cultural awareness, civic and social competences, digital and logic-mathematic competences. The project established cultural dialogue between the participants and also intergenerational dialogue between the participants and the members of the local community. The project was founded through the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission.
