To improve the daily lives of the population in the French-Belgian border area, the partners want to ensure better access to care. A first step is to provide health services close to home. In terms of quality, the partners improve the existing facilities by creating new cross-border synergies and exchanging good practices. The financial improvement, finally, is achieved through an efficient reimbursement of medical expenses and economies of scale. The geographical aspect implies the promotion of a cross-border regional health policy to offer complementary services in the area of hospital care, outpatient care, mental healthcare, elderly care and care tothe disabled.Overall, the partners foster European integration by cooperating across borders.More concretely, the plans aim at sharing healthcare services and increasing the number of cooperation actions for a more efficient use of infrastructure and facilities as well as an improved access to care.
