The Lys river valley, one of the green and blue Lille-Kortrijk-Tournai Euro-metropolis axes, is surrounded by a highly urban area on both sides of the border. This urbanisation is putting pressure on land and causesparticularly high recreation and leisure expectations.The challenge for the partners is to develop a green area and a park on the outskirts of the town. The aim is to improve biodiversity and develop a cross-border identity for the valley resulting in a valuable “CrossborderLys river valley park”.
