Cooperation in the theatre and the music arts development (Culture arts)

There is decrease of inhabitants in the project region because many young people choose to leave their native towns and go to bigger cities where they could find better life conditions - possibilities to study, work and spend their free time qualitative. So it is necessary to search for the possibilities how to keep those persons in the region. One of the possibilities is to promote possibilities to be involved in different activities, increase person’s skills and let them spend their free time interesting and qualitative. Overall objective - Promotion of attractiveness of Latvia and Russia for inhabitants and businesses. Specific objective - Establishment of cooperation in music and theatre arts development between Limbazi, Salacgriva and Volhov thereby promoting development of culture sphere in the region and quality of life for inhabitants. Project partners: Limbazi Municipality, Salacgriva municipality council, Administration of the municipal formation of the town Volhov of the Volhov municipal area. Direct target group - 90 representatives of theatre collectives of Limbazi, Salacgriva and Volhov, that will be involved in creative workshops, festival and performances, 20 representatives of orchestras and 10 music school an secondary schools pupils that will be involved in master classes, lections and concerts. 5 daily centre clients that will be involved in theatre activities. Total 125 persons will be involved directly in cross border cooperation. Final beneficiaries: 16 culture collectives and 3 municipalities that will be involved in cross border cooperation. Main activities: 1) Management and coordination; 2) Information and visibility; 3) Diversification of the theatre art activities; 4) Development of the old and the new music trends. Estimated results: 1) 6 persons have participated in 4 Steering committee meetings, 15 persons have participated in 4 work common group meetings, 3 internal and 1 final report have prepared; 2) 45% inhabitants are informed about project; 3) 90 persons have participated in workshops, 1750 persons have came to performances, festival; 4) 35 persons have participated in master classes, lections, 1750 persons have came to festivals, concerts. Cross border cooperation will ensure added value to the activities - experience exchange, richer culture programme because of different cultures and mentalities of the Latvia and Russia. Achievements: Outputs*6 theatre and music festivals organised – 3 in Russia (Volhov), 3 in Latvia (Limbži, Salacgriva); *10 theatre performances produced and performed at 13 festivals in Latvia and at 10 festivals in Russia; *Several music programmes prepared and presented at 9 concerts organised in Latvia and Russia (jazz, national and pop music); *Numerous classes for actors arranged (stage art, speech, improvisation, make-up etc); *Several classes for musicians organised (voice development, brass, accordion etc); *2 brochures, 7 leaflets, 9 banners, 20 placards produced to promote the festivals, theatre performances, concerts; *19 sets of theatre costumes purchased for amateur theatres; *Musical instruments and inventory purchased for music schools; *1 DVD reflecting festival produced; *Renovation works of Volhov Theatre conducted; *Cooperation network between 16 theatre and music collectives from Latvia and Russia established; *The Cooperation Agreement concluded between Limbaži Municipality (Latvia) and Administration of the municipality formation of the town Volhov of the Volhov municipal area (Russia)Results*Cooperation network between Latvian and Russian music and theatre collectives established bridging about 200 amateur artists; *About 300 local musicians and actors of amateur theatres from 18 collectives acquired new skills and increased knowledge through different classes and events (all together 790 hours) led by professionals; *Quality of culture life in Limbaži, Salacgriva (Latvia) and Volhov (Russia) local municipalities considerably improved through increased competence of local amateur theatres, music groups and purchased inventory; *Project region promoted through active and diverse culture undertakings and therefore encouraged the development of local businesses; *Purchased equipment and musical instruments have improved the capability of music groups of all partners; *New ideas for further cross-border cooperation elaborated in sphere of culture (music, theatre art), partner municipalities
